1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using ChessMarkets, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use this platform. ChessMarkets is a skill-based chess betting platform where players compete in real-time blitz chess matches with monetary stakes. You must be at least 18 years old and legally permitted to participate in online betting in your jurisdiction.
2. Platform Access
ChessMarkets operates on an invite-only basis. Access to the platform is granted at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate access to any user at any time without prior notice. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Any activity conducted under your account is your responsibility, whether authorized by you or not.
3. Game Rules & Betting
All games on ChessMarkets are 10-minute blitz format. Both players must deposit an equal stake into the game pool before the match begins. Games follow standard chess rules with the following settlement outcomes: (a) Checkmate or timeout results in the winner taking the entire pool; (b) Stalemate results in pool distribution based on capture points earned during the game; (c) Resignation or abandonment results in the opponent winning the pool plus a 5% penalty bonus deducted from the resigning player's account.
4. Settlement Terms
Capture points are calculated as follows: Pawn = 1 point, Knight/Bishop = 3 points, Rook = 5 points, Queen = 9 points. In the event of a draw by stalemate, the pool is split proportionally based on each player's capture point total. All settlements are processed automatically and immediately upon game completion. Settlement decisions are final and cannot be appealed except in cases of proven technical malfunction.
5. User Conduct
Users must not engage in cheating, collusion, use of chess engines or external assistance, harassment, or abuse of other players. Users must not exploit technical vulnerabilities or attempt to manipulate game outcomes through any means other than lawful gameplay. Violation of conduct rules may result in immediate account termination and forfeiture of all funds. We employ automated detection systems and manual review to enforce fair play.
6. Account Security
You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Enable two-factor authentication where available. Never share your password or verification codes with anyone. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. We are not liable for losses resulting from compromised credentials due to user negligence. We will notify you of any detected login from a new IP address.
7. Financial Transactions
All deposits and withdrawals are processed through secure third-party payment providers. Minimum deposit amounts apply and are displayed at the time of transaction. Withdrawal requests are processed within 1-3 business days. We reserve the right to request identity verification before processing withdrawals. Currency exchange rates are determined at the time of transaction and may include conversion fees.
8. Limitation of Liability
ChessMarkets is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any losses resulting from platform downtime, technical errors, network failures, or force majeure events. Our maximum liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount of funds held in your account at the time of the incident. We are not responsible for losses resulting from user error, such as incorrect game moves or accidental resignations.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the platform. Continued use of ChessMarkets after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. Material changes will be communicated via email to all registered users. Users who do not agree to modified terms must cease using the platform.
